AWARDS 2009

There are 4 types of award that Gramp Juniors can work towards achieving.
You can be working towards more than one of them at any one time.

 

SOA PARTICIPATION AWARDS

This award is simply for participating in events, this can be any type of event, including summer series. You can claim a badge after....

  • 5 courses
  • 10 courses
  • 25 courses
  • 50 courses
  • 100 courses

SOA COLOUR CODED AWARDS

You can gain awards for competing in colour coded events. For White, Yellow and Orange courses, you can compete on your own or as a pair.

  • To gain a White badge, you simply have to complete 3 White courses.
  • For a badge on all other courses you need to complete 3 courses within 50% of the winner’s time or finish in the top 50% of the finishers. (Don't worry about the maths - the results will show what the qualifying time is!)

BOF BRONZE, SILVER AND GOLD BADGE AWARDS

Badges are awarded when you gain three bronze, silver or gold standards at Regional, National or Championship Events (e.g. SOLs, Scottish Champs etc) over a two year period. Competitors must compete on their own and reach the required standard in three events in the same class.

  • To qualify for GOLD award you must finish within 125% of the standard time.
  • To qualify for a SILVER award you must finish within 150% of the standard time
  • To qualify for a BRONZE award you must finish within 200% of the standard time

The standard time against will depend on the number of competitors:

  • If <11 competitors The standard time will be the winner's time
  • If 11-20 competitors The standard time will be the average of the 1st and 2nd placed competitors
  • If > 20 competitors The standard time will be the average of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed competitors

(Again, don't worry about the maths, the results will show what the qualifying times are for each course!)

 

BOF CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS

To qualify for a Championship Award you need to achieve a time within 125% of the winner's time in one age class in three of the following events (excludes B or novice courses):

  • the British Championships
  • the Jan Kjellstrom Individual Events (Day 1 and Day 2)
  • the National Events for that year
